Christmas is in the air...
Hello all,
Well December is here. I'm glad too. So is Laura...she keeps looking at the calendar and pointing to the 25th and saying, "that's the day that Santa Claus is going to come." Then she keeps reminding me about all the things she wants. And I remind her there's a very good reason why I shouldn't let her watch commercial television. :)
Really, though, we're excited for this time of year, even though our Christmas tree has to be enclosed by the play yard fence to keep Katie from destroying it. It was so much fun to watch the girls playing out in the yard after the first snow. They both loved it. I took Katie out for a minute too. She's getting so big. She's almost 10 months old and she weighs 23 lbs. Also, she's almost 2 1/2 ' tall. She's trying to walk now...ok, she can only stand by herself. But she can do that for almost 30 seconds. She'll be walking any day now.
And Laura...she's such a big girl now! She goes to preschool 3 days a week with a few of her friends and she's doing really well! She brings home fun, colorful projects every time and then she can't wait to go back again. We hope this love of learning (and being with friends) continues well into the high school years...a parent can hope can't we?
Nikki, on the other hand, likes staying home while Laura goes to school. It usually means she gets to pick out the movie without having to compromise. Everyday she's learning something new and drawing new conclusions about the world around her. It's fun to watch her make the connection between things. Her favorite saying this month is "look mom, they're the same!" She likes to see colors and say that, and anything with Buzz Lightyear...she'll hold up her action figure and tell me they're the same (mostly with Toy Story). It's cute! All of my girls are cute.
Well, this blog has gone on long enough...thanks for listening and I hope to hear from some more of you in the near future. Especially you Sabrina...I still don't know what to get you for Christmas!
Take care!
Love, Steph
